The eighth edition of ART X Live! was an unforgettable experience which featured headliners Tay Iwar, a Grammy nominee known for his dynamic fusion of R&B and Afro-fusion, and Azekel, who draws inspiration from his Nigerian heritage and is known for his poignant lyricism.

Dope Caesar, an eclectic DJ with her ability to blend a tapestry of genres, showcased an exceptional performance.

Themed ‘US’, the seventh edition of ART X Live! featured genre-defying Nigerian-born, London-based performer, Obongjayar; South African DJ and Amapiano music producer DBN GOGO; rising Afrobeats star YKB, and Afro-reggae singer Winny; with video artists Daberechi, and Fahd Bello who presented surreal 2D animations, supercharging this energetic and immersive experience.

These artists came together to celebrate the triumphs of art of the past, whilst bringing their learnings into the present, through sampling, interpolation, direct references, collaging and more.

‘Forward ever’

Relive the exciting moments from ART X Live! Forward Ever, featuring Africa’s hottest emerging music and visual artists Lojay, AYLØ, Dami Oniru, AMKMQ, Fez, BigFoot and Pheelz.

This year’s iteration curated by Lanre Masha,  Faridah Folawiyo and Ayo Lawson, celebrated Nigeria’s past and present with the theme “Forward Ever”,  a nod to the country’s history that encourages the artists to depict what an “ideal Nigeria” means to them moving forward.

Held at 9pm on Saturday 6 Nov in an intimate showcase at The Federal Palace, Lagos, the showcase also welcomed music and art enthusiasts all over the world with its livestream.

‘Like Someone’s Watching’

For its first virtual edition in 2020, necessitated by the global pandemic and political climate in Nigeria, ART X Live! presented 'Like Someone's Watching', a performance film weaving together music video performances, interviews, digital artwork and a DJ set starring Nigeria’s fastest rising music and art talent Oxlade, Tomi Owó, King Jesse Uranta and DJ Camron, speaking to their aspirations for liberation and self-determination in this present moment.
