Djibril Drame is a Senegalese visual artist, curator, and independent scholar, and the pioneer of graffiti documentation in Senegal. His work reflects the many aspects of Africa’s multifaceted history and innumerable intertwined cultures, offering an alternative African narrative. He is also heavily involved in film, and has released two short films that have been presented on the international art tour and film festival circuits. Other works have been featured in exhibitions and competitions worldwide, including in Germany, Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia, Spain, and Côte d’Ivoire. For ART X Lagos, Drame is presenting work that strives to shed light on socially relevant and controversial issues affecting our world today.
