Aurélie Djiena (b. 1993, Western Cameroon) is a contemporary visual artist who lives and works in Douala, Cameroon. Djiena’s practice is rooted in local weaving techniques, which inform an artistic style characterised by a blend of artisanal traditions and contemporary expressions. Her central preoccupation is human relationships, which she explores through abstract forms and vivid compositions that evoke a sense of musicality. For Djiena, life itself is a tapestry, composed of various traditions, cultures and languages, and her art reflects this complexity by bringing these elements into dialogue. Djiena holds a master’s degree from the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Douala.
