Synopsis
Every Thursday, students from the University of Ibadan gather for a weekly film club. They screen the greats from Africa– Haroun, Akomfrah, and Hondo. As the credits roll, lively debate and heated discussions about the power imbalances that plague Nigeria follow. Kinshasa-born, French-raised filmmaker Alain Kassanda’s invigorating observational documentary turns the misguided characterisation of Nigeria’s youth into a wonderful display of a generation developing its critical voice.
