Synopsis

After a regal wedding in Brooklyn, Adenike and Ayodele struggle to conceive, a challenge exacerbated by cultural expectations. Andrew Dosunmu’s compelling domestic drama considers the lengths one will go to submit to love and tradition. Bradford Young’s award-winning cinematography and a compelling performance from Danai Gurira as Adenike bring Dosunmu’s commitment to depicting the complexity and beauty of African culture to life.
