In 2026, ART X Cinema takes a new form. Rather than occupying a dedicated screening space, moving image travels across the fair, appearing wherever it can deepen the stories being told.
Within the ART X ICON exhibition dedicated to Ladi Kwali, film reveals what objects alone cannot: the gestures, daily life and many roles of an artist whose hands left their mark on modern Nigeria.
Finally, presented alongside a conversation with its director, Mothers of Chibok (2024) by Emmy-winning filmmaker Joel ‘Kachi Benson, embodies a form of artivism in which creative expression, moral clarity and community care meet. Following the women of Chibok as they farm to educate their children, the film transforms grief into a shared vision of hope without ever losing sight of their humanity.
